
Mike started working for British Rail as a Tail Lamp Boy at Feltham Yard in 1971. He continued on the Southern as a Booking Boy, Shunter and then a Guard. Mike defected to the Western Region in 1982 when he took a position as a guard at Reading. After privatisation he continued at the Reading Depot as a Conductor for Thames Trains, then moved to Newbury as Station Chargeman. Mike is now a Crossing Keeper at Kintbury.
